Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Remote Ultrasound Technologist to serve as the Technical Director. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all echocardiograms and ultrasound studies, ensuring the smooth transmission of orders, managing appropriate billing, and maintaining interface functionality. This role also involves weekly review of technicians' work to ensure compliance with IAC and ACR standards, facilitating certification pathways for technicians, and collaborating with various departments to support expansion and equipment procurement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and Quality Assurance:
- Review all echocardiograms and ultrasound studies to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Ensure that all studies are obtained in accordance with IAC (Intersocietal Accreditation Commission) and ACR (American College of Radiology) standards.
- Order Management and Interface Oversight:
- Verify that all orders are correctly transmitted to the appropriate interfaces.
- Ensure that studies are properly attached and documented in the system.
- Reconcile interfaces to confirm that reports are uploaded automatically or manually as required.
- Billing and Compliance:
- Oversee the appropriate billing for all echocardiograms and ultrasound studies.
- Ensure compliance with billing regulations and guidelines.
- Technician Oversight and Development:
- Conduct weekly reviews of each technician's work to ensure adherence to quality standards.
- Develop and implement certification pathways for all technicians to achieve and maintain required certifications.
- Equipment and IT Liaison:
- Ensure all ultrasound equipment is functioning correctly and efficiently.
- Act as a liaison between IT and the clinical team to manage interfaces, physical connections, probes, and other equipment.
- Coordinate with IT to resolve technical issues promptly.
- Collaboration and Expansion Planning:
- Work closely with the Diagnostic Manager to plan and implement expansion strategies.
- Collaborate with the purchasing department to identify and acquire new equipment as needed.
Qualifications:
- Education and Certification:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
- Current certification as an RDCS (Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer) or RVS (Registered Vascular Specialist) or equivalent.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as an ultrasound technologist, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or technical director role.
- Extensive experience with echocardiograms and general ultrasound procedures.
- Familiarity with IAC and ACR standards and accreditation processes.
- Skills and Abilities:
- Strong technical skills in ultrasound technology and equipment.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a remote team.
- Proficiency in managing and troubleshooting interfaces and IT systems.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
