The Program Coordinator performs a variety of professional and technical public health work. This position works to favorably influence overall community health status by providing comprehensive and coordinated health education programs to county residents, informing residents of health risk factors and evaluating, organizing, promoting, and implementing health risk reduction strategies through wellness programs and community wellness promotion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Promotes Public Health.
- Encourages wellness and prevention.
- Completes assigned reports in a timely manner.
- Regular and punctual attendance is required.
- Investigate outbreaks of infectious disease.
- Interview contacts of infectious disease.
- Inspect facilities possibly associated with infectious disease.
- Coordinate closely with Chief Epidemiologist regarding interviews and investigations.
- Prepares periodic reports summarizing the incidence of infectious disease.
- Presentation and publication of data and epidemiologic findings informing public health staff, partners, and the public.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in related field and a minimum two years of experience in a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and related experience required.
Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) preferred.
Other specific certifications related to the area of assignment may be required for this position.
Possession of a valid driver's license. Must be able to obtain a State of Texas driver's license within 90 days of employment.
This is a grant-funded position that is anticipated to end on August 31, 2025.
