Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Surgical Technologist-Day Surgery OR-Evening Shift (37.5 Hours). In this role, the successful candidate, under the direction of a licensed professional nurse, can scrub on all surgical procedures in the Operating Room and assist the physician in procedural areas.
Job Responsibilities:
- Collect patient healthcare data systematically and on an ongoing basis using appropriate assessment techniques.
- Participate in quality improvement programs and activities that promote patient, family, physician, and staff satisfaction.
- Engage in clinical activities to foster evidence-based practice and utilize findings from current literature in patient care activities.
- Maintain awareness of current research applicable to patient care and incorporate new practices into the plan of care.
- Utilize resources to meet individual learning needs and seek opportunities for professional growth.
- Serve as a support and resource for other staff and students, participating in the orientation of new staff.
- Engage in self-assessment and participate in activities to promote personal professional growth and development.
- Acquire and maintain current knowledge and competence to fulfill responsibilities.
- Participate in designated activities related to professional nursing standards and regulations.
- Collaborate with members of the interdisciplinary team and promote collegial relationships.
- Participate in coordination of unit activities to provide care in a healing and humane environment.
- Support the mission, philosophy, standards, goals, and objectives of the institution.
- Recognize cultural competencies and provide care that respects the values and practices of diverse patient populations.
- Evaluate the patient’s progress toward attainment of expected outcomes and communicate effectively with the surgical team.
- Implement interventions identified in the plan of care and ensure timely and appropriate actions are taken.
Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify, you must have a High School Diploma or equivalent, BLS certification, and 1-3 years of operating room experience preferred. Must be a graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program through NBSTSA. Certification exam must be taken and passed within 12 months of completion of the surgical technologist program.
Required Licenses: Cert Surgical Technologist, Basic Life Support Cert
Preferred Qualifications:
One year experience as a Certified Surgical Technologist in a large complex Operating Room preferred.
Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $82,796.60 - $108,883.20 Annually. Actual salaries depend on various factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need.
