Founded in 2021, Navi Nurses has helped hundreds of nurses to provide thousands of hours of care across the greater Phoenix area. Navi is hiring a Charge Nurse Navigator to manage our Nursing team, while also helping continuously improve the company’s standards of care for clients, nurses, and healthcare partners to support the scale of Navi’s operations.
Charge Nurse Navigator Role Summary
The Charge Nurse Navigator is central to Navi’s core operations, supporting a team of Nurse Navigators who adds warmth and credibility to the client intake process, while demonstrating clinical expertise to assist new and existing clients in building personalized care plans. The Charge Nurse ensures the highest quality of service for each client's co-created care plan, with the support of Navi Nurses’ administrative team and nurse contractors.
The Charge Nurse role supports Navi’s internal and external operations with a particular focus on supporting the current team of Nurse Navigator I (Subacute) and II (Acute) roles. The Charge Nurse will support the Nurse Navigator team in care plan implementation, managing urgent client needs, and creating specialized care teams. The Charge Nurse will ensure field nurses are able to effectively carry out care goals, review care escalations, and support staffing efforts. if needed.
The Charge Nurse will work with the Nurse Navigator team to ensure co-created care plans with new clients meet optimal standards of care; this may include performing in-person or telehealth visits with high acuity clients to appropriately assess health outcomes with the Nurse Navigator team. They will monitor the ongoing care needs of all of Navi’s clients and ensure high standards of care are being executed by the nursing teams, while appropriately escalating performance metrics and needs to the Director of Nursing.
Ideal candidates for this role are Registered Nurses with 4+ years of experience, including people management experience. While Navi’s Administration Department operates Mon-Fri 8am-5pm and Sat-Sun 10am-5pm, the Charge Nurse Navigator role is flexible in days worked and location, depending on business needs. Qualified candidates will be offered flexibility in their weekly hours, days worked, working locations, and local travel to execute the Job Duties and Responsibilities listed below - to meet client, nurse and business needs.
Minimum Qualifications & Education Requirements
- Arizona RN license in good standing, unencumbered.
- 4+ years of direct client care experience (at least 1 year in an acute setting within the last 5 years).
- Current AHA BLS and/or ACLS.
- ASN or higher & graduated from an accredited nursing program.
- Complete the 20+ hour in-person training with DoN.
- At least 2 years in Charge Nurse roles, or equivalent experience in people management and performance reporting.
- Navi RN Contractors with at least 6 months working in Navi are HIGHLY encouraged to apply.
- Strong preference will be given to RNs with 2+ years of ICU or ER experience, with ICU, PCU and / or ED experience within the last year.

- Excellent customer experience and attention to going above and beyond.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both digitally and in-person, when conversing with clients and nurses. This includes helping with inbound acute and subacute clinical questions, onboarding new acute clients, and managing sensitive / urgent matters.
- Comfortability with technology and excellent knowledge of Google Suite Tools, Gmail, and other healthcare platforms.
- Enjoy and thrive in a fast-paced, startup environment with high levels of autonomy and ability to learn quickly on-the-job.

Qualifications
- Nursing Expertise: Registered Nurse (RN) with a robust clinical background in Critical Care and/or Emergency Services. The Charge Nurse executes sound clinical judgment, evidence-based practices and adheres to the most up-to-date standards of care while functioning in an autonomous role. They support the Nurse Navigator team to manage the nurse contractors as they answer clinical concerns and clinical-based questions from client specialists, clients, and nurse contractors.

- Holistic Care Coordination: Supports the development of comprehensive care coordination services, collaborating with nurse contractors, clients, family members, healthcare providers, specialists, and support services to co-create personalized care plans that prioritize the overall well-being of the client.
- Communication: Possesses exceptional communication skills, both digital and interpersonal, with a focus on support and understanding for both clients and nurse contractors. Translates complex medical information into easily understandable terms. Fosters strong patient engagement through empathetic communication, active listening, and the establishment of trusting relationships. Strives to empower clients to actively participate in their healthcare decisions
- Collaboration: Works closely with nurse contractors, healthcare providers, administrative staff, and fellow customer service representatives to maintain a cohesive and collaborative environment. Leads teams of nurse contractors with care, empathy, and empowerment by creating a safe environment that facilitates growth. Shares insights and feedback for continuous improvement. Work with Navi’s Director of Nursing (DoN) to enforce industry-leading quality of care standards, while also documenting and reporting positive and negative feedback to the Field Nurse, Nurse Navigator, DoN and Executive team.
- Adaptability: Ability to adapt quickly to changing healthcare landscapes and evolving patient needs. Flexibility in scheduling and client staffing needs if applicable.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to navigate complex healthcare scenarios and provide effective solutions. Strives to discover and implement solutions that support the client goals and Navi Mission. Assess needs for intervention and escalate compliance and client issues to DoN.
- Detailed Analytics: Execute regular chart audits to ensure Navi’s Standards are upheld with accurate and timely completion of required documents. Assume a leadership role for the nursing team and help develop and identify nurses who can continue growing into other roles.
- Technology Proficiency: Demonstrate proficiency in utilizing Navi’s telehealth platforms, electronic health records, and healthcare applications. Possess familiarity with the latest healthcare technologies and trends. Ability to learn and execute properly multiple app based technologies such as but not limited to Google Suite Tools, CharmEHR, Connecteam, DialPad, and Slack. Desire to learn and adapt to additional technology necessary to improve processes and operations

Compensation

- This is a full-time W2 position.
- Compensation
- $65,000 to $75,000 based on location and experience, with opportunity for performance-based bonuses, reviewed on at least a quarterly basis. Compensation is negotiable based on experience and availability.
- Stipends available for medical insurance needs until Navi’s medical insurance program is launched in 2025.
- Technology and gas mileage stipends are also available, if applicable.
