Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist is seeking full-time New Grad RNs for our Women's Services Residency at The Birth Center, part of Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, located in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. A New Graduate Nurse is either a current nursing student nearing graduation from an RN program or a recent graduate with less than six months of clinical experience as a Registered Nurse.

- Residency Program: New Graduate RNs at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist receive supportive training led by dedicated nurse educators, including clinical orientation, specialty-specific learning, and skill-building in clinical decision-making, teamwork, communication, and career development.
The Birth Center's Women's Services units that currently have availability include:
- Labor & Delivery: The Labor & Delivery Unit features 9 triage beds and 17 delivery beds. Nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:1 for high-acuity and 1:2 for low-acuity cases, per AWHONN guidelines. The unit handles 250-300 births monthly, including high-risk deliveries, with residents and anesthesia available 24/7. Staff rotate between L&D and triage, and scrub techs assist with C-sections. The NICU is nearby, and while water births aren’t available, tub suites are provided for laboring.

The New Graduate Nurse provides nursing care to patients using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation). They lead and direct other assigned team members and collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to provide age/developmentally appropriate care in accordance with nursing standards of care and practice.
- Less than 6 months of RN experience
- Graduation from accredited School of Nursing; BSN preferred.
- Registered Nurse licensure from the State of North Carolina Board of Nursing
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) required
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required within 1 year of hire, per unit guidelines
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required within 1 year of hire, per unit guidelines
