Scarlet Oaks Retirement and Rehabilitation Center - Assisted Living is seeking experienced Part-time day shift (7am-3pm) and full-time night shift (11pm-7am) LPNs (Licensed Practical Nurses). The primary purpose of the LPN position is to provide direct nursing care to our residents and to supervise the day-to-day activities performed by our nursing assistants. Such supervision must be in accordance with current Federal, State and local standards, guidelines and regulations that govern our facility, and as may be required by the Director of Nursing or Nurse Supervisor to ensure the highest degree of quality care is maintained at all times.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse):
- Direct the day-to-day functions of the nursing assistants in accordance with current rules, regulations and guidelines that govern the Assisted Living Facility.
- Administer all medications as ordered by the physician.
- Make written and oral reports/recommendations concerning the activities of your shift as required.
- Ensure adequate supply of medications, supplies and equipment is on hand to meet the nursing needs of residents. Report needs to the nursing supervisor.
- Order prescribed medications, supplies, and equipment as necessary and in accordance with established procedures.
- Ensure that narcotic records are accurate for your shift.
- Demonstrate competence in nursing practice and participate in appropriate professional development programs to attain and maintain competency.
QUALIFICATIONS OF LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse):
- Must hold a Nursing Degree from an accredited program or college/university.
- A current, unencumbered, active OH LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse) license and current CPR.
- Must be knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as state, federal, and regulatory requirements that pertain to long-term care.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and critical thinking abilities.
- Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with a team of inter-disciplinary professionals, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies, and the general public.
- Ability to organize and prioritize.
