FLEXIBLE HOURS! Must report to work Monday - Friday starting at 7:30am and ending between 12:30pm - 4pm daily (depending on the candidate's preference).
Performs daily temperature checks on all shippers received with specimens for testing in the Virology & Rabies Laboratory Monday through Friday. Saturday and Holidays as needed and per established schedule. Ensure that all specimen temperatures meet PHL Standardized Temperature Definitions. Accession specimens, including categorization and number assignments, and racking by following established blood borne pathogens safety protocols for SARS-CoV-2, wastewater, and other disease pathogens.
Keys and verifies patient's demographics in the Open ELIS (LIMS) database Monday through Friday for COVID. Follows laboratory procedures for correction of incomplete or invalid data. Enter wastewater information into Excel spreadsheets in the Virology & Rabies Laboratory.
Maintain established Excel spreadsheets regarding entering patient demographics, wastewater demographics, and test results for Whole Genome Sequencing for COVID, wastewater, and other disease outbreaks.
Package testing supply kits to help with outbreak investigation and wastewater surveillance.

State Minimum Requirements: A high school diploma and work experience in a clinical or research laboratory setting, in a health care setting or in a general maintenance or machine shop environment.A bachelor's degree in a related scientific discipline may be substituted for the required work experience.Institutions of Higher Learning must be recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.Agency Additional Requirements:
