Compensation: $90,000 - $105,000+ (extra hours and clients are available!)
Benefits: Full Benefits Package
Location: Driving radius of 50 miles from home – visiting clients in Assisted Living settings
Schedule: Part-Time or Full-Time + on-call and weekend responsibilities

Position Summary: Are you a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) with a passion for wound care and ostomy management? Your expertise will be crucial in assessing, planning, and implementing specialized care plans, ensuring optimal patient comfort and recovery. Responsibilities:
- Wound Assessment and Management: Conduct thorough assessments of patients with complex wounds, including pressure ulcers, surgical wounds, and chronic ulcers, and develop individualized care plans for treatment and prevention.
- Ostomy Care: Provide expert care and education to patients with ostomies (e.g., colostomies, ileostomies, urostomies), assisting with appliance management, stoma care, and addressing complications.
- Patient Education: Educate patients, families, and caregivers on proper wound and ostomy care techniques, emphasizing self-care and independence.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with the healthcare team, including physicians, surgeons, and other specialists, to ensure seamless continuity of care and adapt treatment plans as needed.
- Quality Improvement: Participate in quality improvement initiatives by monitoring and evaluating wound and ostomy care outcomes, and implementing best practices to enhance patient outcomes and safety.
- Research and Evidence-Based Practice: Stay current with advancements in wound and ostomy care through research and ongoing education, applying evidence-based practices to enhance patient care.
Qualifications:
- Nursing License: A current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Minnesota.
- Certification: Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nursing (WOCN) certification or similar wound care and ostomy certification, demonstrating specialized knowledge and expertise.
- Clinical Experience: Substantial clinical experience in wound care, ostomy management, and related specialties, preferably in a healthcare setting such as a hospital (medical/surgical), long-term care facility, or home healthcare.
- Education: A bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) or associate's degree (ASN) is required.
- Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively educate and support patients and their families, as well as collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
- Critical Thinking: Exceptional critical thinking and problem-solving abilities to assess complex patient cases, develop care plans, and adapt interventions based on changing patient needs and clinical evidence.
