The primary focus of the Clinical Specialist role within Proprio’s Sales & Marketing Team is to be an OR technician at hospitals for our advanced surgical navigation system, Paradigm. This role has no supervisory responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
- Utilize technical expertise and clinical knowledge to support spinal navigation procedures in new and existing accounts (hospitals).
- Ensure appropriate instrumentation and equipment is prepared and available to support scheduled surgeries.
- Provide technical support to the surgical team throughout a surgical procedure.
- Work with the radiology department to ensure proper preoperative scans are available and execute segmentation of the patient scans in advance of each surgery.
- Liaise with internal support teams to coordinate access for scheduled and emergent product maintenance.
- Liaise with Sales & Marketing and hospital team to coordinate case activities.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to provide information on clinical product functionality and coordinate feedback to inform ongoing product development efforts and medical education training programs.
- Work closely with Marketing and Sales teams to train hospital and surgical staff on proper use of Proprio products.
- Attend meetings, trade shows, and medical education programs to support Proprio sales and marketing initiatives.
- Maintain proper credentials for hospital access at all accounts.
- Support marketing in the development and execution of deployment playbook to ensure on-time activation of new accounts.
- Become a super user of Salesforce.com to ensure transparent communication at accounts.
Minimum Qualifications:
- B.S. in science, technology, engineering, mathematics, Clinical Engineering, Nursing, or related healthcare field.
- 2-5 years minimum experience in a clinical support role with a medical device company or hospital.
- Ability to work and communicate effectively within a high-stress operating room environment.
- Excellent communicator, detail-oriented, comfortable with independent decision making, reliable, and works well on teams.
- Proficient in Gmail, Google Calendar, and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Office, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Must be able to travel to/from hospital facility 5 days per week.
- Must be able to travel to conferences 4-6 times per year.
- Based in Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Nursing or clinical background.
- Knowledge of spinal surgical procedures, anatomy, and medical terminology.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit and stand for extended periods while working at a computer.
- Occasional lifting of equipment or supplies weighing up to 25-35 pounds.
- Ability to communicate effectively in person, over the phone, and through electronic means.
- Manual dexterity to operate computers and other office equipment.
- Ability to travel to different locations as needed for meetings or project requirements.

- Salary Range: $70,000- $90,000. Our compensation philosophy is to bring people into new roles in the range of the mid-point of that role. Factors considered for pay include the level of skill, experience, training, external market factors, and internal equity.
