THE SPECIALTY CARE SERVICES STAFF NURSE is a professional nurse who assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care for patients/families in his/her area.
Education
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
Associate degree or diploma with at least one year of recent nursing experience required, preferably in pediatrics and in an outpatient setting.
OR
BSN or MSN with a minimum of 6 months experience preferred, preferably in pediatrics and in an outpatient setting.
Experience
Licensures, Certifications, and/or Registries
Current RN License in the State of Alabama.
Current BLS Certification.

The Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition Division at Children's of Alabama provides comprehensive multidisciplinary evaluation and management of pediatric gastrointestinal, liver, and nutritional problems. These may include conditions such as liver disease, feeding disorders, eosinophilic esophagitis, functional GI disorders, intestinal rehabilitation, and inflammatory bowel disease. Academic Fellows, Residents, and Certified Registered Nurse Practitioners also provide world-class, disease-specific care in this area under the supervision of the attending MD.
Multidisciplinary patient-centered care is the focus of the Division. Close interaction with Pediatric Surgery, Radiology, Pathology, Anesthesiology, and Nutrition services provide ample opportunity for optimizing patient care.
