Position Summary / Career Interest:
Shifts Available: Mon.- Fri. at West Plaza and Quivira location or Sat. & Sun. 6:30am-5pm at Indian Creek location.
The CT Technologist is responsible for producing images that provide cross-sectional imaging for the purpose of diagnosing disease processes. Procedures can be performed at various locations throughout the West Plaza and Quivira locations. CT Technologists are expected to participate in ongoing training and education.
Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions:
- Acts as a liaison for communication between other departments and assists with special projects approved by the Radiology Department leadership team.
- Assists in developing continuing education strategies within the CT Department for the long-term enrichment of the staff.
- Participates in providing teaching and learning opportunities to fellow technologists and students.
- Ensures that all staff operate equipment safely and optimally by adhering to policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Responsible for the operation of CT scanners and auxiliary devices within designated locations, ensuring minimal radiation exposure while maintaining image quality.
- Maintains an organized flow of scheduled patients, coordinating examinations efficiently to minimize patient stay.
- Must have a thorough knowledge of contrast reactions and responses and be able to respond immediately to patient needs.
- Completes mandatory educational assignments as provided by supervisor/senior supervisor.
- Performs routine CT procedures to a high standard and gains experience in specialty studies.
- Sets equipment parameters, provides patient assessment and education, accurate patient preparation, and venous access for safe administration of contrast material.
