Unit Description:
2F is a 19 bed Observation telemetry unit specializing in short stay and fast turnaround of surgery, cardiac, urology, and gastric patients with a focus on ERAS protocols. This unit serves our Bariatric Center of Excellence patients. The patient population is transferred from ED and PACU.

Job Description:
The Registered Nurse (RN) implements professional nursing practice centered on the patient as a whole person and the creation of a caring environment focused on healing and wellness.
- S/he honors patients’ mind, body, and spirit by respecting human dignity and the uniqueness of each individual.
- Nursing practices are based on evidence and current research as well as hospital and department policies and procedures, regulatory standards, and professional guidelines.
- Clinical decision-making incorporates all four phases of the nursing process, critical thinking, and creativity.

- The Registered Nurse (RN) is an exemplar for compassion, acceptance, respect, and empathy honoring nursing as a distinct discipline and supporting an environment focused on healing and wellness.
- As a clinical nurse, this individual spends the majority of his/her time (> 50%) coordinating, ensuring, and providing direct patient care activities on the unit through: provision of nursing rounds, assessments and treatments; facilitating admission, transfer, and discharge activities; provision of patient and family-centered education; care coordination and individualized treatment planning as applicable, etc.
Minimum Education, Experience, Training and Licensures Required:
- Current RN licensure or work permit in Kentucky.
- Bachelor's or an associate degree in nursing from an accredited college/university.
- Those with an associate degree in nursing and less than 10 years of experience must enroll within 12 months of hire in a bachelor’s degree program and must have achieved the degree within 5 years.
- Basic life support.
- ACLS/PALS/NRP and successful completion of dysrhythmia class as required by department of Assignment.
