Shift: Nights / 6:45p-7:15a, 12×4, 48 hrs/week, will consider 36’s
Length: 13-20 weeks
Requirements:
- NC License
- 1 Year Experience
- Skills: IV start, Vents, Telemetry and cpap/bipap, Interpretation/management of dysrhythmias
- BCLS
- ACLS
- NIHSS preferred
Others:
- Unit Systems: Pyxis, EPIC, SBAR
- Unit will accept 1st time traveler
- Must pass EKG Testing prior to start for this specialty
- Required to float to like units
- COVID-19 Vaccine (Facility Guideline): Not Required
- Flu Vaccine (Facility Guideline): Required – Medical/Religious Exemptions Only
REQUIRED SKILLS / CERTS / EXP:
- Minimum Years of Experience: 1 year required.

- Certs: ACLS, BLS

JOB DETAILS:
Target Ratios: 1:5-6 (Mixed acuity unit with PCU and MS/Tele patients with ratios of 1:6)
*36-48 hrs can be offered.
Unit will accept contracts from 13 weeks+ up to March 15, 2025 (hard stop) to get the Unit through the Holidays!
12 HOUR NIGHTS; 18:45 – 07:15
Float Requirement: required to float to like units.

SPECIAL PROCEDURES / UNIT DETAILS: Our acuity is on the higher end of a med-surg unit, but we do operate with a team lead present in a 3:1 that rounds the whole unit, 2 respiratory therapists that are rounding, and an assistant nurse manager on shift including weekends. We do take ventilators on our unit but they are for chronic trach/vent patients. Our model is that no nurse has more than one vent patient at a time. Our unit is 48 beds in total. Our CNA’s are a 9-10:1. Most of our patient population is going to be COPD exacerbations, pneumonia, acute respiratory failure, and patients with chest tubes, CPAP, BiPAP. Many have comorbidities as well as telemetry monitoring.
**Recognizing the high ratios and acuity, the following resources are available on the unit:
- Vascular Access Team
- RRT
- Code Team
- Behavioral Health Team
SPECIAL EQUIPMENT:
- Chest tubes
- Drips: Heparin
UNIT SYSTEMS: Pyxis, EPIC, SBAR
UNIT ORIENTATION: 24 hours
SCRUBS: white or navy blue
