Position Title: DIRFloortime Practitioner (DIR-Advanced)
Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate DIRFloortime Practitioner (DIR-Advanced) to join our team. The successful candidate will possess advanced expertise in the DIRFloortime model and will be responsible for providing direct therapeutic services, supervising junior practitioners, and contributing to the ongoing development of our DIRFloortime program. This role requires a deep commitment to supporting the developmental, individual-difference, and relationship-based needs of children with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) and other developmental challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct Therapeutic Services:
- Provide individualized DIRFloortime interventions to children with ASD and other developmental challenges.
- Develop and implement tailored therapeutic goals and plans in collaboration with families, caregivers, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Regularly assess and document the progress of each client, adjusting therapeutic approaches as needed to meet developmental goals.
- Utilize advanced techniques and strategies within the DIRFloortime model to foster emotional, social, and cognitive growth in clients.
- Supervision and Mentorship:
- Provide clinical supervision, guidance, and mentorship to junior practitioners, ensuring the quality and fidelity of DIRFloortime interventions.
- Lead case consultations, offering expertise and support in complex cases.
- Assist in the training and professional development of staff, including conducting workshops and seminars on DIRFloortime practices.
- Family and Caregiver Collaboration:
- Engage and educate families and caregivers in the DIRFloortime approach, encouraging their active participation in the therapeutic process.
- Offer ongoing support and resources to families, empowering them to apply DIRFloortime principles in daily interactions with their children.
- Program Development and Innovation:
- Contribute to the development and refinement of DIRFloortime programming within the organization, ensuring alignment with best practices and the latest research.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, contributing advanced insights and recommendations for client care.
- Collaborate with other professionals (e.g., occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists) to provide holistic, integrated care.
- Documentation and Compliance:
- Maintain accurate and timely records of all therapeutic sessions, assessments, and communications in accordance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant licensure, certification, and continuing education requirements.
- Community Outreach and Advocacy:
- Represent the organization in the community, promoting awareness and understanding of the DIRFloortime model.
- Participate in outreach activities, workshops, and events to advocate for the needs of children with developmental challenges and their families.
Qualifications:
- Education: Master’s degree or higher in psychology, social work, occupational therapy, or a related field.
- Certification: DIRFloortime Advanced Certification (DIR-Advanced) is required.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience working with children with ASD and other developmental challenges using the DIRFloortime model.
- Licensure: Must hold and maintain current licensure in the relevant field (e.g., LCSW, LMFT, OT, SLP).
- Skills:
- Deep understanding and practical expertise in applying the DIRFloortime model.
- Strong ability to supervise, mentor, and train other practitioners.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with families, caregivers, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong organizational and documentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in program development and community outreach.
- Experience in research or contributions to professional publications on DIRFloortime.
Working Conditions:
- Work is typically performed in a clinical or therapeutic setting, with some travel required for home visits, community outreach, and training sessions.
- Ability to work flexible hours to meet the needs of clients and families.
