Mental Health Practitioner - North London and Kent
Mental Health Prevention and Trauma Responsive Education are critical interventions, especially when it involves children and young people.
Oasis Community Learning is one of the largest multi-academy trusts in the UK, committed to supporting the mental health of our students. We are dedicated to the development of our young people’s competence, character, and embracing our wider community.
We are currently recruiting a Primary Mental Health Practitioner who will come from a youth work, clinical, social care, or educational setting and will have experience in supporting the mental health needs of Primary and Secondary aged pupils. The Primary Mental Health Practitioner will work with a cluster of schools to deliver our new innovative Mental Health Strategy across our regions.
The role includes:
- Assessing the needs of children and young people who have been referred with concerns surrounding their Mental Health.
- Providing therapeutic support as 1:1 or group work under the direction of the Senior Mental Health Practitioner for a variety of pupils with Mental Health needs.
- Supporting the facilitation of group, parent, and staff mental health interventions including Oasis Encounter (NVR).
- Working alongside the National Mental Health Lead and Inclusion Leads to promote a “whole school approach” through the Oasis Way strategy.
The role requires the individual to be able and willing to travel within a region to all settings across the Oasis North London and Kent estate.
