Job Summary: Performs age specific ultrasound procedures utilizing the necessary independent judgment, ingenuity and initiative in order to obtain diagnostic sonograms. Performs inpatient, outpatient, ER and surgical procedures as needed. Position would help with basic procedures, interventional procedures and call. Hours: “As needed” vary according to the need in the department.
Minimum Qualifications:
- EDUCATION: Must be a graduate of an accredited School of Ultrasound or Radiologic Technology.
- EXPERIENCE: One year diagnostic ultrasound experience preferred.
- LICENSES, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR REGISTRATIONS: BLS certification will be obtained within 90 days of employment. Must be a Registered Sonographer in good standing with ARDMS and/or ARRT.
- EQUIPMENT, TOOLS, WORK AIDS: Diagnostic Ultrasound Equipment, Computers.
- SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
- Knowledge of ultrasound examinations.
- Knowledge of ultrasound equipment.
- Knowledge of Radiation Safety.
- Knowledge of patient transportation methods.
- Good communication skills.
- Good customer service skills.
- Good ethical and professional conduct.
