Description:
- Pre/Post Area Responsibilities:
- Assesses/reassesses young adult, adult, and elderly patients and applies the nursing process.
- Demonstrates basic competency in specialized procedures/equipment, i.e., cardiac monitoring.
- Care of and/or recovery of patient pre/post interventional cardiac procedures.
- Care of patients with vascular closure devices: application, maintenance, and removal.
- Maintain/Pull Arterial and/or Venous Sheaths.
- Assist with transesophageal echocardiogram (TEE) with use of safety and guidelines involved in delivery of the procedure.
- Pain management and follow-up pain reassessment.
- IV therapy and infusion of blood and blood products.
Skills:
- Procedural Area Responsibilities:
- Assesses/reassesses patients and applies the nursing process.
- Care of patients with vascular closure devices and assist with vascular procedures.
- Assist with electrophysiology procedures and interventional radiology procedures.
- Assist with insertion of Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump and maintenance.
- Monitor for anaphylactic reactions and manage accordingly.
Education and Licensure:
- Associate's degree in nursing required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
- RN license required; CPR, BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and EKG certifications required.
- 2 years experience required; 5 years preferred.
