Requires one year experience and one year commitment to Confluence Health.

Assists with the day to day coordination of services provided by the Rheumatology Department. Is accountable for promoting efficient quality patient care. Plans, organizes and directs department activity. Works closely with the Director and Practice Manager on department activities and serves as a resource, educator and role model to aid in achievement of high quality care for our patients. Provides direct patient care as needed.
Position Reports To: Practice Manager
Essential Functions:
- Collaborates with the Director/Practice Manager to determine staffing needs for the department.
- Works closely with the clinical support staff to effectively schedule patients based on skill level and patient need.
- Responds to patient/family needs via phone/visit/EMR when RN is needed, or in times of high patient volumes.
- Supports and effectively utilizes staff members’ technical specialties and skills.
- Provides teaching and skills development through one-on-one interaction with nursing/clinical staff during the delivery of direct patient care.
- Orients, schedules and supervises new clinical staff during their orientation process.
- Participates in the development of skills in clinical staff; assists the Director and Practice Manager in developing, presenting, and implementing changes in agency practice.
- Attends workshops and seminars in order to update knowledge. Reports significant conference findings to staff.
- Maintains a high standard of professional responsibility and performance.
- Develops policies, procedures and standards for the department.
- Collaborates with Director, Clinical Manager and Quality Specialist to develop annual department-specific goals and objectives.
- Works with support services and community resources to achieve high quality of care for patients and their families.
- Participates in the interview and hiring process for new staff.
- Assists the Director and Practice Manager with meeting budgetary compliance as evidenced by monitoring and enforcing productivity standards of clinical staff, minimizing overtime and problem-solving with clinical staff on day to day workflow.
- Required to maintain active Basic Life Support (CPR) certification.
- Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Required:
- Current licensure in the state of Washington (RCW 18.88) or licensure through Multistate Nurse Licensure Compact (SSB 5499).
- Must possess basic computer skills related to Windows navigation, mouse usage, keyboarding, email communication and password management.

Working Conditions:
- Work is performed at a work station desk and in patient exam and treatment rooms, where space may be limited and confined. Requires a combination of working independently and also working closely with others. Hours may be irregular at times; overtime may be required. Requires working under stressful conditions. General supervision is provided by the Practice Manager with additional instructions, guidance, and directions provided by the physicians or providers with whom the RN is working.
