Lexington Park Baptist Church (LPBC) is a conservative Southern Baptist Church in St. Mary’s County, MD. LPBC is searching for an Associate Pastor of Family Ministries for Youth and Children. In this full-time, exempt position, he will help grow the church, primarily associated with youth and children and younger families. The Associate Pastor will support and coordinate with the Senior Pastor to ensure that pastoral ministries to families of the church are conducted in a way that leads to the strengthening and growth of the church.
The Associate Pastor will be a born-again believer passionate about local church work and ministry while having practical skills in discipleship, managing lay leadership, and local church leadership. In addition, he will agree with the church’s stated beliefs, Baptist Faith & Message 2000, and the Senior Pastor’s vision for the church.

Qualifications of the Associate Pastor:
- Shall be a God-called, Spirit-filled Christian.
- Shall be ordained or able to go through ordination.
- Shall be a Seminary graduate with a master’s level degree or bachelor’s degree from a Seminary college or Bible college minimum.
- Shall be sound doctrinally, according to the Baptist Faith & Message 2000.
- Prefer some experience working with youth, children, and young families.
- Must clear a personal background check required by insurance underwriters.
- Will serve in accordance with the following scriptural reference: 1 Timothy 3:1-7; Titus 1:5-9; 1 Peter 5: 1-4.
Duties of The Associate Pastor:
- Oversee the lay leadership of Youth & Children Ministries.
- Lead Youth & Children programs for discipleship, education, mission activities, evangelistic outreach, and other related activities.
- Take the lead on outreach and ministry to young families to encourage spiritual growth within the family and participation within the body of Christ.
- Assist the Senior Pastor in implementing the vision for discipleship strategies, including identifying and training leadership for areas of ministry associated with this position related to young families.
- Plan and execute Family Ministry events, such as marriage and parent training, etc.
- Develop lay leaders to grow their family, youth, and children ministry capabilities.
- Work as part of the church staff under the supervision of the Senior Pastor and fill in for the Senior Pastor in overseeing the staff in his absence.
- Administer the Church ordinances in the absence of the Senior Pastor.
- Preach and lead worship services in the absence of the Senior Pastor.
- Be a member or ex-officio of the Church Council.
- Participate in helping provide pastoral care for members.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Senior Pastor.
