Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY:
This employee provides diagnostic assessment, individual psychotherapy, and occasional family therapy to adults with Substance Use Disorders (SUD) and/or co-occurring Mental Health Disorders and SUD living at Y-Haven.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Provide diagnostic assessment, individual psychotherapy, and family therapy.
- Record all service activities by entering progress notes in the Y-Haven Electronic Medical Record.
- Establish and maintain regular collaborative relationships with Y-Haven SUD Counselors and Case Managers.
- Coordinate with Clinical Director on all critical clinical issues.
- Provide mentoring and support to Case Counselors regarding mental health, family, and intimate relationship matters.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education:
Required Education: Master’s Degree in Counseling, Social Work, or related field. - Experience:
Must have at least 5 years’ experience in behavioral health counseling and psychotherapy and/or Family Therapy. - Technical Skills and Knowledge:
- Ability to engage and connect with a diverse adult client population, evaluate and treat trauma, mental illness and substance use disorder.
- Preferred License: LISW (Licensed Independent Social Worker) or LPCC (Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor).
- Required License: LSW (Licensed Social Worker) or LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor).
- Must have extensive knowledge of Substance Use Disorders and Mental Health Disorders.
- Must have basic computer skills.
- Should have working knowledge of OHMAS, CARF and VA program compliance standards.
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred, but not required.
