Responsibilities
The Radiographer/CT Technologist, under the direct supervision of the Medical Director of Radiology and Administrative Director of Radiology, is responsible for providing high quality images for interpretation by the radiologist to aid in patient diagnosis. To provide all services necessary within the organization and Department of Radiology to ensure proper patient care while obtaining requested radiographic examinations.

The compensation range for the role is $39.42-$45.47 hourly.
Garnet Health System provides a compensation range to comply with the New York State law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentives, differential pay, or other forms of compensation or benefits.
Qualifications
Minimum Education: Graduate of an approved Radiologic Technology Program. Bachelor’s degree preferred. (New Graduates must have a letter from the radiology program stating they meet graduation requirements and provide diploma within 3 months of hire if diploma is not available at time of hire).
Minimum Experience: Six months CT scan experience preferred or completion of CT training program inclusive of didactic and clinical rotation or commitment to complete the Garnet Health CT Scan training program.
Required Certification/Registration:
- Experienced CT Scan Technologist:
- New York State Radiologic Technologist License required
- ARRT (R) required
- ARRT (CT) - Certification required within 12 months of hire
- BLS required within 30 days from date of hire
- NYS DOH Injection license - required within 3 months from date of hire
- New CT scan Technologist hired into the Garnet Health CT Scan Training Program:
- ARRT (R) required (New Graduates must obtain the ARRT (R) registry within 3 months from date of hire)
- ARRT (CT) Certification required within 18 months of hire
- BLS required within 30 days from date of hire
- NYS DOH Injection license required within 3 months from date of hire (New Graduates must have a temporary permit issued by NYS DOH as per NYS DOH Public Health Law Article 35 and obtain a NYS DOH License within 3 months from date of hire)
Physical Requirements: Position requires lifting (50-75lbs.), transferring and assisting patients. Requires occasional lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 25 pounds. Occasional bending, twisting, stooping, kneeling, and reaching is required. Requires 80% standing or walking and 20% sitting. Expressing or exchanging ideas by spoken word is required.
Working Conditions:
- Environmental Demands and Exposure to Hazards: Works in a clean, well-lighted, heated, or ventilated facility. No routine exposure to hazards. May have occasional exposure to blood, body substances, infectious materials, chemical hazards, vibration, radiation, slippery surfaces, or noise that may result from performance of duties.
- Physical Demands: Demonstrates physical and functional ability to perform full anatomical range of motion to accomplish tasks. Evidence of visual and aural acuity and finger and hand dexterity to operate computer and office equipment. Can withstand long periods of sitting, standing, and/or constant walking. Ability to lift 75 lbs.
- Mental Demands: Ability to foster collaborative relationships, to work well under pressure, to organize and synthesize new information, and prioritize tasks. Possesses critical thinking, analytical skills, and flexibility. Ability to multi-task. Required detailed attention to work in an environment where interruptions cannot be controlled. Demonstrates sensitivity to customer needs and expectations. May be subject to irregular hours including evenings or potentially weekends to participate in operational and community events as necessary.
