Northwest Talent Solutions is partnering with a leading regional medical center in Lewiston, Idaho, to recruit a Surgical Technologist (CST). This exciting opportunity offers the chance to work in a state-of-the-art facility with advanced surgical technology, including robotic-assisted surgery systems.
Job Summary:
As a Surgical Technologist, you will function as a crucial member of the sterile team in the Operating Room. You'll assist in preparing the OR, perform surgical scrubs, set up instruments and equipment, and work closely with surgeons and nurses during procedures. This role is vital in maintaining a safe, sterile environment and ensuring smooth surgical operations.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Prepare operating room by setting up sterile field, equipment, and supplies
- Perform surgical scrub and assist with draping procedures
- Anticipate surgeon's needs and pass instruments, sutures, and other supplies during procedures
- Maintain sterile field and ensure proper aseptic technique throughout surgeries
- Conduct accurate needle and sponge counts with circulating nurse
- Assist in various surgical specialties including orthopedics, neurology, general surgery, spine, and robotics
- Participate in on-call rotation with other staff members
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification required within 6 months of employment
- 2-3 years of acute care hospital-based operating room experience
- 2-3 years of experience in Ortho, Neuro, General Surgery, Spine & Robotics
- Current BLS certification
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- In-depth knowledge of surgical procedures and sterile techniques
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Proficiency in anticipating surgeon's needs during procedures
- Ability to stand for long periods and handle the physical demands of the job
- Adaptability to work with various surgical teams and specialties
