Under the immediate supervision of the Facility Administrator and in consultation with the Medical Director, plans, directs, and supervises all aspects of consumer medical and employee health programs and services on the campus for the Comprehensive Programs.
You will:
- Confer with Medical Director in establishing and directing medical program, in carrying out policies and procedures; supervise nursing staff and van driver, train new and existing staff.
- Plan, develop and provide consumer medical and nutrition educational program; review new referrals; ensure the assessment of each consumer; coordinate transportation checks and van use for consumer pick-ups, TR outings, etc.
- Oversee employee pre-employment screenings, TB screenings and influenza vaccinations; administer the bloodborne pathogens program; conduct monthly review with Pharmacy Consultant.
- Complete nursing staff time schedule, time sheets and coordinate leave; schedule part time staff as needed; provide 24 hours on-call coverage.
- Inventory and maintain medical equipment and supplies; conduct quarterly nursing staff meetings; inform Administrator of any nursing issues.
- Ability to complete reports necessary for DHEC inspection.
- Assist administrator with monthly admissions report.
- Coordinate quarterly medical staffing.
- Safety Coordinator for facility.
- Attend all scheduled meetings and chair morning report; complete documentation as scheduled.
- Coordinate admissions and education of Evaluation Center services.
- Provide pre-admission calls to VREC and residents to help with transition to comprehensive program. Will discuss transportation issues, medical needs, and medications with consumer or guardian to help nursing staff prepare for admission. Will follow up cancellations with a call to reschedule or document reason for cancellation to keep field staff informed.
- Participate on the Brain Injury Team.
Minimum Requirements:
- Must be graduate of accredited school of nursing & licensed as RN by SC Board of Nursing.
- Minimum of 5 yrs experience as a supervisor.
- Experience with physical disabilities, chronic health conditions, and brain injuries.
- Experience in rehabilitation setting and experience or knowledge of DHEC policies for licensed facility.
Official transcripts will be required to verify college degree.
