North Shore Surgery Center is seeking a motivated full time PACU RN to join our team. We focus on offering a high quality, ambulatory care alternative to a hospital for surgical procedures. We have been in operation at this location since 1985 and perform over 6,000 surgeries per year. Specialty areas include ENT, GI Lab, General Surgery, GYN, Ophthalmology, Orthopedics, Pain Management, Plastic Surgery, Podiatry, Oral Surgery, and Urology.
JOB SUMMARY
The PreOp/PACU RN Registered Nurse provides quality patient care using the nursing process, the medical plan of care, and organizational policies. The PreOp/PACU RN provides safe, effective, and quality patient-family centered care in the perioperative services for all patient populations. The PreOp/PACU RN supports the mission, vision, and values of the organization. The PreOp/PACU RN reports to the Manager of Peri-Operative Services.
Required Skills:Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Current Nursing License with state
- Current BLS and ACLS
- Minimum of 2 years experience in PreOp/PACU, Med/Surg or Critical Care. Previous experience working in an ambulatory surgical setting preferred.
- Strong knowledge of surgical procedures and management of the surgical patient
- Understand principles of aseptic technique and their implementation
- Knowledge base to recognize, evaluate, solve problems and correct errors
- Ability to quickly adapt to changing condition of the patient when needed to ensure patient safety
- Excellent teaching skills
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Demonstrate strong professional and ethical behavior
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, physicians, and fellow employees.
- Strong customer service skills
- Demonstrate accountability, creativity, innovation, and be receptive to change
- Possess basic knowledge of Performance Improvement ideology
