Job Summary and Qualifications
As a CT Technologist, you will be responsible for performing CT scans with a strong focus on delivering exceptional customer service and maintaining the highest standards of image quality. In this role, you will adhere to established protocols while ensuring efficient patient care and accurate diagnostic results. Your tasks will include preparing procedure trays, gathering patient history, retrieving necessary orders or previous images, and providing pertinent patient information to the radiologist. You will be responsible for documentation and coordinating patient flow to ensure all exams are completed in a timely manner. Additionally, you will uphold safety standards by adhering to ALARA principles, inform and guide patients through procedures, and professionally communicate with physicians, patients, and their families. The role also requires starting IVs for contrast administration, utilizing a power injector, and participating in after-hour coverage through on-call shift rotations. Maintaining licenses, certifications, and daily upkeep of the work environment is essential, along with contributing to quality improvement and meeting quarterly performance metrics.
What You Will Do in This Role
- Perform CT exams following protocols to ensure high-quality care.
- Prepare procedure trays with appropriate supplies.
- Take patient history and retrieve necessary orders or prior images.
- Provide relevant patient history, signs, and symptoms to the radiologist.
- Complete all required documentation.
- Coordinate patient flow and ensure all exams are completed.
- Adhere to ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) safety principles.
- Inform patients about procedures and answer their questions.
- Professionally communicate with physicians, patients, and family members.
- Start IVs for contrast administration and use the power injector.
- Participate in after-hour coverage through on-call shift rotations.
- Maintain all required licenses, certifications, and accreditations.
- Perform daily maintenance of work areas, including cleaning and stocking supplies.
- Promote customer service by adhering to the ICARE values.
- Support and participate in quality improvement (QI) and performance improvement (PI) plans.
- Comply with quarterly targeted metrics (Kronos, HealthStream, PACS, etc.).
- Demonstrate knowledge of patient growth, development, and age-appropriate care.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What Qualifications You Will Need
- Graduate of an accredited school of radiologic technology.
- Current ARRT certification with advanced registry, or eligible for advanced CT certification within 1 year of hire or within 6 months of eligibility.
- 1 year of post-graduate experience, preferred.
- BLS certification required.
- Comfortable working independently.
TriStar Centennial Medical Center is working to bring a freestanding emergency room to Bellevue, filling a critical gap in access to care. As the western area of Davidson County and adjoining areas in Cheatham and Williamson County grow, they continue to be underserved in emergency care services. TriStar Bellevue ER will be located at the intersection of Highway 70S and Harpeth Valley Road, right off I-40, in Bellevue, Davidson County. The site is easily accessible by car and ambulance.
