Donor Alliance is hiring an Organ Clinical Coordinator in Denver! The Organ Clinical Coordinator position involves the fulfillment of on-call responsibilities and office time related to identification, evaluation, management, transport, and coordination of donor activity and all related documentation.
Day-To-Day
- 3 12-hour shifts per week. Night shift 1900-0700
- On-call responsibilities to include but not limited to:
- On-site identification and evaluation of potential donors
- Discussion of authorization by donor designation or request for authorization for donation from next of kin (NOK).
- Medical management of donor according to established protocols and direction from medical director, administrator on call, or physician/surgeon on call.
- Complete, accurate, and timely documentation of donor related activities in confidential donor record, forms, and database according to established policies and procedures.
- Notification of and interaction with medical director, administrator on call, and physician/surgeons according to established policies and procedures.
- Coordination of all participants in the donor process according to established policies and procedures.
- Coverage of basic Family Support and OR Specialist duties/responsibilities when required by staffing constraint assigned.
- Attends and participates in activity conference calls and organizational meetings as directed.
- Participates in post-donor/post-recovery conferences as needed.
- Variable office time (minimum 5 days per month) to complete chart documentation, projects and assignments.
- Maintains required certification (i.e., BLS, ACLS, PALS, CPTC for Level II and III).
- Participates in education/training of new Donor Alliance staff as assigned.
- Stays current in procurement/transplant related trends through pursuit of educational opportunities and participation in national organizations (UNOS, NATCO, AOPO, etc.).
- Maintains confidentiality of donor and recipient information according to established policies and procedures.
- May perform other related duties as required to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.
Qualifications
- Licensed RN, EMT-P, Nurse Practitioner, Physician’s Assistant and/or equivalent work experience/education required. Two years healthcare experience required. Critical care experience required.
- Ability to work with all levels of personnel in various health care settings required.
- Strong verbal and written communications skills, with public speaking experience desired.
- Ability to interact effectively and diplomatically with interoffice personnel, donor hospitals, hospital staff, donor families, and the public.
- Demonstrated accuracy, organizational skills, integrity, professionalism, attention to detail, and follow-through.
- Proficiency in the use of computer equipment and software, including but not limited to, Windows environment (Intermediate skills) required.
Compensation:
- $41.19-46.34/hr, experience and education considered in offer
- Non-exempt (eligible for overtime)
- Shift Differential: $6/hour, any hours worked between 7p-7a
Additional Compensation:
- Variable Pay Bonus Plan, per plan document
