Job Description:
Under the direction of the Supervising Physician, provide comprehensive medical care to patients following established medical standards, procedures, and practices in New York State within the scope of practice.
Responsibilities:
Primary Job Duties:
- Examine, diagnose, and treat patient conditions using examinations and tests. Based on findings, prescribe treatment and medications to manage and heal any illness or injury.
- Adhere to principles of professional practice at all times. Perform duties and responsibilities within established standards and protocols.
- Notify the Medical Director/Supervising Physician of activities that impact patient outcomes. Make decisions in the best interest of the patients within applicable guidelines and regulations.
- Comply with all established regulatory standards. Explain these standards to patients and the public as appropriate.
- Follow established routines and utilize supplies and equipment in a cost-effective manner. Perform duties in the assigned clinic(s).
- Work with insurance companies to ensure proper authorizations for payment of services.
- Demonstrate knowledge of Federal and New York State regulations regarding the scope of practice.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of payor policies and Evaluation and Management Services Guidelines.
- Maintain electronic medical records by charting appropriately for continuity of patient care. Complete all required documentation accurately and within the required timeframes.
- Serve as a professional role model for clinic staff.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information and company matters.
- Recognize and engage in appropriate interactions with staff, families, community representatives, agencies, and other non-employees who may be present in the clinic.
- Recognize and honor the chain of command.
- Maintain clinical skills and perform them independently.
- Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to patients of all ages (based on the scope of practice).
- Demonstrate understanding of principles of growth and development across the lifespan and assess data reflective of the patient's status.
- Interpret information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to their age-specific needs and provide care accordingly, as described in company policies and procedures.
- Cooperate with other personnel to achieve departmental objectives and maintain good employee relations, interdepartmental relations, and public relations.
- Perform other reasonable duties as assigned.

This includes communicating openly and cooperatively, avoiding gossip, refraining from using derogatory language, and building trust and respect by delivering the correct service or solution promptly and accurately. Compliance Regulatory Responsibility:
Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements for Primary and Urgent Care, including those of DNV, NYSDOH, CMS, and federal and state regulations that pertain to department activities. Actively support the organization's quality improvement philosophy, mission, and goals. Adhere to company policies, performance improvement objectives, safety, environment, and infection control standards. Demonstrate knowledge of Corporate Compliance and reporting procedures for potential or identified problems.
Safety and Environment of Care:
Comply with all departmental and company-wide policies and procedures. Report and act on unsafe conditions/equipment. Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Quality Improvement (5%):
Engage in quality improvement initiatives, including both departmental and company-wide efforts. Strive to maintain and exceed high-quality standards.
Continuing Education:
Maintain professional affiliations and continue professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, conferences, and continuing education. Participate in all required education and training.
Additional Job Duties:
Perform additional job duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor, Medical Director, or company administrative team. Maintain steady, consistent, and punctual attendance.
Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program or equivalent per NYSDOH regulations.
- National certification preferred.
- NYS License with current registration. ACLS and ATLC coursework required.
- At least one (1) year of experience in a primary/urgent care or emergency department setting.

Pay: $55.00 - $70.00 per hour
