Position Function:
This position is for a Postdoctoral Associate to work on analyses of extreme events in North America under the current and possible future climate states. The individual will analyze climate models and observations using both statistical and machine learning tools. This position is within the research group of Professor Sara C Pryor.
Anticipated Division of Time:
• Analyzing observations, climate model output (55%).
• Summarize results in scientific publications (30%).
• Interfacing with other members of the group and with external collaborators to share and compare results (10%).
• Archiving data and/or scripts for repeatability (5%)
Required Qualifications:
• Ph. D. in atmospheric science, climate science, physics, or related topic.
• Experience with scientific programming.
• An established record or promise of publications in high-ranking scientific journals.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience analyzing and working with atmospheric observations and/or climate models.
• Experience with MATLAB and Python.
Supervision Exercised:
This position is full-time and will be located in Ithaca, New York.
