Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery - Night Shift
Position Highlights:
- Position: Staff Nurse – Labor and Delivery
- Location: Evanston Hospital
- Full Time/Part Time: Full time 32 hours
- Hours: 2300-0730, with weekend rotation
- On call: 8 hours every 6 week schedule
- Required Travel: Required to float to other sites if needed
What you will need:
- License: Current professional Nursing Licensure in the State of IL required
- Education: Graduate of a NLN accredited school of nursing required; BSN strongly preferred
- Certification: BLS/CPR Certification for the Healthcare Provider required
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years Maternal Child Health or acute care nurse experience strongly preferred
What you will do:
- Independently provide safe, effective, and compassionate nursing care for a patient population on a specific unit
- Utilize the nursing process in planning, implementing, and evaluating the patient plan of care
- Guide and direct assigned unlicensed assistive personnel in delivering interdisciplinary patient care
- Communicate and collaborate with members of the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes and continuity of care
- Positively contribute to safety outcomes and promote high quality patient experience
- Develop a plan of care that identifies interventions to achieve expected outcomes and evaluate patient’s progress
- Provide patient assessment and collection of health data involving patient, family and other health care providers
- Communicate plan of care to patient and family regularly, respecting the patient’s wishes
- Individualize patient and family teaching based on assessment to meet specific learning needs
- Interact with and contribute to professional development of peers, students, and other health care providers
- Nurture a compassionate environment by providing psychological support
- Provide assistance to technical staff with injection of contrast, venipuncture, and administration of drugs
- Participate in performance improvement activities and nursing research
- Assist in the transporting of acutely ill patients as needed
