Part-time, 10 hours per week
(2 days per week, 5 hours per day, Scheduled days TBD)
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master's Degree
- Current and valid NJ Board of Nursing RN + APN + CDS + DEA
- Must be a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC)
- Three (3) years of direct practice experience, at least one (1) year in a community mental health setting.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver services in accordance with approved joint protocols and practice agreement with the Medical Director.
- Provide psychiatric evaluations, comprehensive health assessments, medication monitoring, medication counseling, psycho education, consult with other clinical staff, attend staffing meetings, and function as a member of the treatment team.
- Provide consultation and education to staff.
- Identify relevant psycho-dynamics.
- Assist in the identification of relevant treatment issues and the formulation and signing of treatment plans.
- Utilize a wide range of treatment modalities.
- Log in and monitor all medication samples.
- Dispose of expired medication samples.
- Provide emergency first aid as mutually agreed upon.
- Confirm blood work.
- Complete all charting and record requirements and review all cases on a regular basis to ensure proper documentation.
- Monitor appropriateness of treatment modality, frequency of contact, length of stay, other services available, and medication regimens.
- Be available for crisis consultation with staff via telephone as required at times other than scheduled days.
- Create an atmosphere conducive to open dialogue for all clinical staff in the department.
- Give written and verbal orders to nurses regarding client medications.
- Provide injections of medications for PH members as required.
- Attend meetings at the request of the Medical Directors or Senior Director of Programs, including the Performance Improvement Committee.
- Facilitate psycho-educational and therapeutic groups.
- Monitor clients’ health/medical issues and make treatment recommendations.
- Consult with collaborating psychiatrist as indicated by service agreement and joint protocols.
- Conduct medication inventory.
- Dispense medication as prescribed.
- Complete clinical and medical documentation in electronic clinical record system timely and accurately.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director.
