A Brief Overview
The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for managing individualized patient care by promoting and restoring patients' health through the nursing process; collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary team members; providing physical and psychological support to patients, friends, and families; and supervising assigned team members.
What you will do
- Conduct individualized patient assessments, prioritizing data collection based on the patient’s immediate condition or needs within the timeframe specified by policy along with collaboration with other members of the healthcare team. Monitor patient’s condition and assess their needs to provide the best possible care and advice.
- Perform appropriate treatments and administrations of medication, immediate and ongoing, as ordered by the provider in an accurate and timely manner.
- Perform therapeutic nursing interventions and delivery of care with appropriate age and cultural competence as established by individualized needs/plan of care for the patient and their family.
- Provide individualized patient/family education customized to the patient and his/her family.
- Document patient condition, assessment findings, and physical/psychosocial responses to nursing intervention and progress towards problem resolution.
- Initiate emergency resuscitative measures according to adult resuscitation and advanced life support protocols.
- Maintain confidentiality and provide care in a non-judgmental, non-discriminatory manner that is sensitive to the patient’s and family’s diversity, preserving their autonomy, dignity, and rights.
- Observe and interpret patient’s symptoms and communicate them to providers and other staff during shift change.
Qualifications
- AS in Nursing from an education institution accredited by National League of Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC) or Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). Required
- BS in Nursing from an education institution accredited by NLNAC or CCNE. Preferred
- MS in Nursing from an education institution accredited by NLNAC or CCNE. Preferred
- Previous experience in an acute care setting. Preferred
- Proficient in using Electronic Health Record (EMR) for patient-level care and coordination.
- Excellent verbal communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate with others to improve quality and address needs.
- RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure in good standing with South Carolina Board of Nursing.
- BCLS - Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire and recertification every two (2) years Required
- ACLS Preferred
