APP for Rural Emergency Medicine Featured Job
This position works in collaboration with physicians to assess the physical needs of patients admitted to the emergency room. Orders, interprets, and records results of clinical tests and reports results to physicians. Prescribes medications and makes recommendations for other therapeutic forms of treatment. Familiar with advanced concepts, practices and procedures and relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals in the fast pace and a variety of illnesses presented in an emergency room setting. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. The advance practice provider functions as a consultant, facilitator, educator, change agent, program designer and resource person to a defined patient population and caregivers. Advanced clinical practice distinguishes this position, supported by knowledge and competence in the areas of research, leadership, consultation, education and professional growth. The advance practice provider, under the supervision of the department director assumes a leadership role in strengthening collaborative relationships with physicians, healthcare leaders and nurses in various settings to improve patient/family outcomes along the care continuum.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Master's degree in from an accredited advanced registered nursing program, or Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited physician assistant program
Two years experience in emergency or urgent care preferred
Required Registration/License/Certification
Current Kansas Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (APRN) license; or current Kansas Physician Assistant (PA-C) license
National certification relevant to clinical practice area preferred
Schedule-Shift-Hours PRN - As Needed - Varied Shifts - Variable Hours
