Children's Waiting Room Childcare Provider
Do you have experience with or enjoy working with children and wish to be a part of our growing team? The Children's Waiting Room (CWR) will be providing childcare services for the parents of children (ages 6 weeks to 12 years old) whose parent/sibling(s) have medical appointments at Madigan Army Medical Center. Operating hours for CWR are Monday through Friday from 07:30am - 5:30pm. Hourly rate commensurate with experience ($18-21/hourly).
Essential Duties:- Program and Services Management
- Provide a variety of activities for toddlers to 12-year-olds.
- Model effective behavior for parents and volunteers.
- Interact with children; provide a nurturing environment for infants & children.
- Advise Director and POC at Hospital of any issues or concerns in CWR.
- Follow all Child Abuse Reporting procedures when necessary.
- Supervise all Volunteers.
- Ensure that all CWR policies are followed.
- Facility Management
- Open and close the center.
- Maintain a safe and clean child-watch area.
- Ensure new parents fill out proper registration forms (ASYMCA registration forms).
- Ensure each parent fills out Daily Register Report and signs child in and out.
- Maintain registration files and parent information.
- Ensure all Records are kept locked in filing cabinet when not in use.
- Report unsafe conditions to the Director.
- Provide parent and Director with written accident report involving any child.
- Clean all toys with bleach/water solution upon closing of center.
- Equipment Management
- Keep toys and equipment clean and sanitary and in good working condition.
- Advise Director about needed supplies.
- Other Duties as assigned
Qualifications:- Minimum High School diploma or GED. CDA preferred.
- At least 18 years of age.
- CPR, First Aid, online training including child abuse prevention within 30 days of hire date.
- Previous experience working with children in a developmental setting preferred.
- Ability to plan, organize and implement age-appropriate/developmentally appropriate program activities.
- Previous experience with diverse populations. Ability to develop authentic relationships with people from different backgrounds.

- Any combination of educational and work experience that would be equivalent to the stated minimum requirements would qualify for consideration of this position.
Post Hire Requirements- CPR, First Aid and Great Academy (Online training to be determined by Director).
