Women's Health Connecticut is seeking a Full-time, Phone Triage Nurse to join Women's Comprehensive Health Care practice in Glastonbury!

Employment: Full-time, 40 hrs per week
Schedule/Hours: Monday- Friday, 8:00a- 5:00p
Position Summary: The Triage Nurse is required to interview, educate, advise and provide clinical support via phone to obstetric and gynecologic patients, to triage immediate treatment needs according to the seriousness of the condition.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
- Respond via phone to all patient issues routed to Triage Nurse making notations in patient chart utilizing our electronic medical record software.
- Ability to work with multiple physicians in response to patient’s medical treatments.
- Responsible for successfully completing tasks assigned by any provider, i.e. calling patients, explaining test/lab results, contacting pharmacies for patient medication questions/refills, pre-authorizations, letters for patients, etc.
- Discuss with physicians and e-prescribe medication, discuss treatments, and advise patient of medical treatments in accordance with internal protocols.
- Maintain clear communication with other members of the patients' multi-disciplinary team.
- Fostering a supportive and compassionate environment to care for patients and their families.
- Adhere to corporate compliance program guidelines and comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures within the PWH community and all HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) mandates.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
Skills/qualifications:
- Current state issued LPN license/Registered Nurse License.
- Current CPR certification.
- Electronic Medical Record experience.
- Requires a minimum of 3 years of OBGYN, hospital or medical office experience triaging patients.
- Infertility, Fertility and Contraception experience is a plus.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
