We are currently seeking an experienced Assistant Manager for our well-established Optical Lab located in Kent, WA. This is an excellent opportunity to join our team!
Job Summary
Assist in the supervision of employees and production within the branch. This position is responsible for assisting with optical laboratory production and quality control for customer service, data entry, and inventory personnel. Further responsible for scheduling vacation and employee hours and for maintaining attendance and morale in the department.
Position Specifics:
- Able to demonstrate performance of all aspects of laboratory activity including clerical and customer service duties and can manage various processes to achieve a high quality of product and services to customer standards.
- Assists in managing and training employees and assures timely performance reviews, proper documentation of performance issues and insures a positive work environment.
- Actively participates and engages in continuous improvement processes such as our Four Disciplines of Execution (4DX) program. Coach employees using 4DX and WIG huddles that drive scoreboard(s) to achieve our WIG’s.
- Effectively communicates with all levels of the organization to assure understanding and the proper application of company policies, practices and procedures.
- Continually reviews and searches for ways to improve processes to simplify jobs, eliminate non-value added tasks and reduce costs and makes recommendations to branch management.
- Maintains close association with accounts and addresses issues of product information and Rx service. Renders decision to accounts on matters of company sales/service policies and procedures.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Experience/Qualifications
- Position requires an Associates’ Degree or specialized training and six years of optical management experience or experience commensurate with department function(s).
- Prior Supervisory / Assistant Management experience preferred.
- Occasional travel may be required. Must possess and maintain a valid and insurable Driver’s License that complies with The Walman Optical Company Motor Vehicle Policy.
