Summary: Promotes professional development of all nursing personnel; provides orientation; functions as an expert educator and consultant; assesses, plans, coordinates, implements and evaluates educational programs designed to meet identified learning needs; provides educational interventions that enhance growth and allow nursing staff to provide high quality nursing care to all oncology patients; leads nursing quality improvement initiatives in collaboration with the unit managers; manages the clinical competency assessment processes; continuously identifies and implements evidence-based nursing practice and research and assists with patient care activities to maintain clinical competence; serves as a role model for nursing personnel and as a patient advocate, change agent and leader; assesses, plans and evaluates the nursing process using a high level of expertise; works actively with the Nursing leadership and managers to evaluate the effectiveness of clinical care; develops and delivers education based on the needs of the units as assigned.
Salary range is $104,638 - $121,360 which includes a comprehensive benefits package.
Qualifications:Required Education and Experience
License Requirement
License to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of New York.
Certification Requirement
Accepted board certification(s) as recognized by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Demographic Data Collection Tool (DDCT).
Education and Experience
Master's degree in Nursing and the equivalent of three (3) years of full-time, hands-on nursing experience within the past five (5) years, including education/preceptor experience.
NOTE:
Required degrees must have been granted by an accredited school, college or university or one recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center as following acceptable educational practices.
Preferred Qualifications
The preferred candidate should have a Master's degree in Nursing Education and experience in chemotherapy administration, oncology, nursing education, and critical care.
