Responsibilities:
- Provide technical assistance in performing diagnostic and interventional procedures
- Acquire all imaging and post-processing of images
- Collaborate with members of an interdisciplinary health team to plan, implement, coordinate, and evaluate patient care in consultation with patients and their families in a respectful, therapeutic and professional manner
- Responsible for continuous lifelong learning and education to maintain personal competence in Interventional Procedures; this new knowledge will also be continuously applied to improve patient care
- Coordinate daily activities to maintain an effective workflow of case load.
- Set up and clean sterile trays.
- Scrub in and assist Radiologist in sterile procedures.
- Responsible for complete and accurate documentation of procedures
- Continuously monitor and order inventory and supplies
- Help to maintain a safe and organized environment.
- Provide “critical thinking” and resourcefulness in instances where normal-routine practice cannot be applied, often in high-stress situations
- Use professional judgement to adapt imaging and therapeutic procedures to improve diagnostic quality and therapeutic outcome
- Be a point of contact resource for questions from non-core IR staff
- Able to work in a team setting with fellow departmental staff as well as employees in various other areas of the hospital
- Provide supervision of students assigned to Angio/Intervention
Minimum Requirements:
- Graduate of approved training program in Radiography
- Current registration and in good standing with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO)
- Current procedural scrub training required
- Previous interventional radiology experience required
- Experience in sterile environment and aseptic technique
- Current BLS certification required upon hire
- Must have the knowledge, skills and judgment as identified in the CMRITO "Essential Competencies" to perform the services and procedures that fall within the scope of practice of the profession
- Ability to organize work, set priorities, manage time effectively and produce accurate results while working autonomously or as a team player
- Excellent problem recognition and problem-solving skills
- Committed to service excellence while meeting the patient/staff needs efficiently
- In keeping with the Hospital Mission, Vision and Core values, maintain and foster a positive role within the department and to external stakeholders
- Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication (verbal/written) skills
- Ability to handle stress and conflict management in a professional, effective manner
- Must be able to work well under busy conditions, handling urgent situations requiring life-saving actions
- Must be physically able to do the job that involves standing for long periods of time while wearing a lead apron, lifting and intensive physical effort
- Requires the ability to remain focused, calm and tactful while coping with concurrent demands for high-quality service.

Salary: $36.825 - $50.255 per hour
