RN Residency, Adult Acute Care, DMC (Fall/Winter Cohort)
Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist is seeking full-time New Grad RNs for our Adult Acute Care Residency at Davie Medical Center, located in Bermuda Run, North Carolina. A New Graduate Nurse is either a current nursing student nearing graduation from an RN program or a recent graduate with less than six months of clinical experience as a Registered Nurse.
- Facility: Davie Medical Center delivers exceptional, world-class health care with its state-of-the-art 50-bed inpatient facility, 24/7 emergency department, and comprehensive clinical services, all backed by the resources of Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist, a nationally recognized academic medical center.
- Residency Program: New Graduate RNs at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist receive supportive training led by dedicated nurse educators, including clinical orientation, specialty-specific learning, and skill-building in clinical decision-making, teamwork, communication, and career development.
The Davie Medical Center Adult Acute Care units include:
- Medical-Surgical: A 32-bed unit with 4 virtual critical care beds for low-level intermediate care. Managed by hospital medicine specialists, focusing on conditions such as pneumonia, flu, cellulitis, geriatrics, and general illnesses.
- Post-Surgical: A 14-bed unit specializing in post-operative care for joint replacements (hips, knees, shoulders) and neurosurgery patients (such as fusions). Managed by orthopedic and neurosurgery teams.

Job Summary
The New Graduate Nurse provides nursing care to patients using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation). They lead and direct other assigned team members and collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to provide age/developmentally appropriate care in accordance with nursing standards of care and practice.
What You’ll Need
- Less than 6 months of RN experience
- Graduation from accredited School of Nursing; BSN preferred.
- Registered Nurse licensure from the State of North Carolina Board of Nursing
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) required
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required within 1 year of hire, per unit guidelines
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required within 1 year of hire, per unit guidelines
