Positions range from permanent clinical float roles (Full time or Part Time) to Seasonal 13-week assignments with significantly higher base pay. Under the direction of the designated section leader, leads or performs Computed Tomography Imaging according to protocols established for various age groups of patients, requiring minimal supervision. Freestanding facility in addition to CT must also perform x-ray. Leads or performs a variety of procedures for CT, including, but not limited to:
- Basic portable
- Fluoroscopy
- Extremity and chest x-rays
- Advanced computer skills
- Biopsies
- Drainage
- Trauma alerts
- Core CT protocols
- CT advanced level recons
- Neuro and Cardiovascular CTAs
- Independent workstation proficiency
- IV skills
- QA maintenance
- Sterile contrast studies
This role requires independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation. Assumes responsibility for designated area or procedures, as required. Serves as a resource person, assists with work scheduling, interdepartmental committee leadership, policy and protocol development, and ensures proper safety protocols are followed. Assists the Section Leader in orienting, scheduling, evaluating, disciplining, and assigning work to employees. Assesses the age-specific needs of the patients. Responsible for performing job duties in accordance with the mission, vision, and values of Tampa General Hospital.
Qualifications
One (1) year of progressive responsibility within a CT diagnostic imaging department. Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) as a Radiation Therapy (RT), Nuclear Medicine (NM), or Radiography (R). American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS). CT Registry required. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
