RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking an API Engineer to join their team remotely.
Summary:
As an API Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in our API development team to create cutting-edge APIs. You will be responsible for implementing high-quality Android solutions that meet our business objectives and exceed user expectations. Your technical expertise and strategic vision will drive the success of our API projects and contribute to the overall growth of our company.
Responsibilities:
- API Engineer will lead the development of robust and scalable APIs, ensuring adherence to best practices and industry standards
- Implement high-quality codebase using node, Spring Boot, .net core or other similar technologies
- Work closely with react native, Ionic and iOS engineering teams to provide android expertise
- Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to translate business requirements into technical solutions and drive product innovation
- As an API Engineer, you will drive continuous improvement initiatives in development processes, code quality, performance optimization, and software architecture
- Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in Android development, evaluate new technologies/tools, and make informed recommendations for adoption
- Participate in cross-functional meetings, sprint planning, and agile ceremonies to ensure alignment on project goals, timelines, and deliverables
- Champion a culture of innovation, creativity, and excellence within the API development team, fostering collaboration and a positive work environment
- Act as a subject matter expert on Android development topics, provide technical guidance to stakeholders, and contribute to technical documentation and knowledge sharing efforts
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in a related area; Preferred degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or similar relevant field
- 7-10 years with 6-8 years of full life cycle development experience and 5-7 years of programming and system design experience in financial services or a related industry; Or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience in developing complex, high-performance Android applications with a focus on user experience, performance, and scalability
- Knowledge of modern software development practices such as Agile methodologies, continuous integration, and test-driven development (TDD)
- Familiarity with API principles, design guidelines, and design techniques
- Strong proficiency in API development using Node and Java, with a deep understanding of API components, and related frameworks
- Deep understanding and commitment to software engineering principles and processes (e.g., Lean, Agile, DevOps) and continuous improvement through measurement
- Excellent interpersonal communication, negotiation and influencing skills to work effectively with all stakeholders (internal & external), making information-based decisions
- Proactive in identifying potential issues, proposing solutions, and driving continuous improvement in code quality, performance, and best practices
- Ability to quickly establish strong credibility with employees, business partners and external resources
- Embodies and delivers the firm's values and culture towards colleagues, clients, and communities
- Strong preference for work on technology transition from Java/.Net technologies to Node.js
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
