The Ambulatory Float Pool supports multiple specialty practices within Ambulatory Care Clinics (Richmond tri-cities, Fredericksburg, Williamsburg & Tappahannock). This role assists the health care team with the prevention of illness and injury, maintenance of wellness, and provision of comfort. The LPN delivers and accurately documents direct, age-specific care to patients based on medical orders and an integrated, multidisciplinary plan of care.
Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for Hire:
LPN licensure in Virginia or eligible.
Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for Continued Employment:
Current LPN Licensure in Virginia, AHA BLS Certification or equivalent.
Experience Required:
Varies based on transitional duty assignment.
Experience Preferred:
Experience as a LPN in either an acute care setting or as applicable to area of practice.
Education/Training Required:
Graduate from a Board of Nursing approved School of Practical Nursing.
Independent Action(s) Required:
Follows documented physician/licensed independent provider orders, standards, and practice guidelines such as treatments and organizes work to carry out assignments.
Additional Position Requirements:
Licensed Practical Nurses work all three shifts, weekends, and holidays. Individual shift rotation and schedules will be established with your specific Nurse Manager/Practice Manager.
Physical Requirements:
Physical: Lifting 50-100 lbs. Other: Exposure to potentially hazardous and infectious substances. Activities: Prolonged standing, sitting, frequent bending, walking, climbing, reaching.
Mental/Sensory: Strong recall, reasoning, problem solving, hearing, speaking clearly, writing legibly, reading, logical thinking.
Emotional: Steady pace, frequent and intense customer interactions, noisy environment, able to adapt to frequent change.
