Crisis Mental Health Counselor/Clinician II - On-Call

Compass Health is currently looking for a Mental Health Therapist / Clinician II for our MCOT in Bellingham, WA.
The Mobile Crisis Outreach Team (MCOT) is a community-based outreach team that provides crisis services in various settings (e.g., homes, schools, shelters) to individuals experiencing a behavioral health crisis, regardless of their funding source. MCOT offers short-term crisis intervention and prevention services utilizing strength-based, solution-focused, culturally competent, trauma-informed, and recovery-oriented interventions.
MCOT consists of behavioral health professionals, including mental health professionals, certified peer counselors, and chemical dependency professionals, who collaborate with individuals in crisis and their families to develop a plan for managing the current crisis and moving towards recovery.
What you will be performing
This position will provide direct, supportive, and ongoing coordination of therapeutic services to assist clients with behavioral health conditions in achieving the highest level of independence and stability possible in their community. Services delivered are recovery-focused and include, but are not limited to:
- Case management
- Treatment planning
- Resource identification and assistance
- Identification and development of natural supports
- Advocacy
- Service monitoring and follow-up
- Collaboration with natural supports and other providers
- Individual and group services
Serves as a treatment team member and provides backup to other team members as needed.
What you will be carrying along
- MA/MS/MSW Degree in a Behavioral Science related field.
- Qualifies as a Mental Health Professional (MHP) as defined by WAC preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience with Evidence-Based Practices, or interest and ability to learn.
- Individuals who do not already hold a license or associate license through the Washington State Department of Health must submit Agency Affiliated Counselor application upon hire and be approved by the DOH.
- Valid Washington State Driver's License including vehicle and appropriate insurance, if applicable.
- Ability to pass pre-employment criminal background check, which may or may not include an additional search by DSHS.
