Overview and Responsibilities
Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota is seeking to hire a Mental Health Outreach Coordinator for the Twin Cities Campus. The Mental Health Outreach Coordinator is responsible for overseeing information campaigns to raise awareness about mental health and resources, building a network of community partners within the Twin Cities metro area, and engaging faculty and staff in training programs that enhance their ability to support non-traditional student well-being. Additionally, the coordinator will develop and maintain a comprehensive Canvas course page that serves as a centralized resource for mental health information, tools, and support services. This is a one-year part-time position funded through a grant received by the university.
- Collaborate with the Project Director to develop, plan, and execute mental health awareness campaigns tailored to the graduate school community.
- In partnership with the Project Director, initiate and foster relationships with mental health organizations, service providers, and community partners within the Twin Cities area.
- Develop a comprehensive Canvas course page dedicated to mental health resources, including tools, educational materials, and links to campus and community services.
- Provide education and outreach services to link and promote evidence-based mental health training to faculty and staff, at the direction of the Project Director.
- Create and maintain a database of community resources and referral networks to enhance support services available to students.
- Work collaboratively with the project Internal Evaluator and other university partners and departments to maintain the quality, integrity, and confidentiality of clients’ records.
- Collect and analyze data on the usage and effectiveness of mental health initiatives and resources.
- Work with the Internal Evaluator, Project Director, and the Advancement Office to ensure the timely and satisfactory submission of financial and programmatic reports to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration.
Qualifications
- Develops and maintains good working relationships and communications at all levels of the organization.
- Observes safety guidelines and follows safety procedures established by the university.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work effectively alone and within a team environment.
- Familiarity with Canvas learning platform, Canva, and other design tools encouraged.
