Job Summary: The Procedure Room RN at EPSC is responsible for all patient care in the Procedure Room, and working with the physician to deliver a successful procedure and outcome for the patient.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
- Managing procedure room(s) to ensure the rooms are prepped and ready for patients, including room turnovers, stocking supplies, cleaning, etc.
- Administers medication as ordered by physician, following the Moderate Sedation policy.
- Safely monitors and documents care of patients undergoing Moderate Sedation in accordance with policy and procedure and guidelines of care.
- Assures all documentation on medical records is accurate and complete at all times.
- Supports and assists the physicians with care of the patient throughout the procedure.
- Plans, implements, and evaluates patient care needs in the procedure or endoscopy suite, including assessing patient’s condition pre-procedure and post-procedure recovery.
- Maintains proper care and handling of specimens.
- Recognizes emergency situations and assists in corrective action, including but not limited to ACLS protocol.
- Participates in the development of and maintains established policies, procedures, and objectives; quality improvement; safety; environmental and infection prevention programs.
- Recognizes and reports hazardous equipment.
- Evaluate the patient’s progress toward attaining outcomes.
- Transfer care as appropriate.
- Uses nursing judgment in decision-making.
- Performs effectively in stressful situations to fulfill position responsibilities.
- Informs Clinical Director / OR Manager of applicable day-to-day situations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Skills: - Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing (associates or bachelor's degree).
- Minimum of two (2) years previous Procedure Room experience desired.
- Ideal candidate will have a minimum of four (4) years total RN experience.
- Experience in basic and advanced procedures and IV sedation experience preferred.
- Experience with medical outpatient procedures desired.
- Current Oregon License as a Registered Nurse.
- Current BLS & ACLS required.
- Possess the ability to work independently and prioritize responsibilities.
- Possess the ability to deal tactfully with patients, families, physicians, and employees.
- Knowledgeable of hospital/ASC policies and procedures specific to the procedure room.
- Demonstrates professional behavior/conduct in all interactions with Patients, Physicians & fellow Team members.
- Efficient use of resources.
- Willingness to maintain a clean, organized environment.
- Must be a team player.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Reliable means of transportation.
