About the role:
As an Associate Clinical Documentation Specialist for Accompany Health you will be:
- Pre-visit chart prep including review of medical records to identify diagnoses to be addressed by care teams in visits with patients.
- Identifying educational opportunities to improve clinical documentation in compliance with ICD-10 CM coding guidelines, internal protocols, and CMS and payer guidelines.

*This is a full-time remote role based in Denver, CO.*
Responsibilities will include:
- Partnering with tenured CDSs to learn the fundamentals of medicine allowing you to indirectly support our providers.
- Reviewing medical records within HIEs and other sources, and pulling in to our own EMR where appropriate for pre-visit chart preparation in partnership with a CDS team member.
- Reviewing medical records to identify chronic conditions, both known and suspect, as part of prospective chart preparation in partnership with a CDS team member.
- Providing guidance to field staff regarding clinical documentation and risk adjustment best practices in partnership with a CDS team member.
- Learning about our core business model and how medicine works in a value-based care setting.
- Other duties as assigned.
- This role reports to the Lead CDS.

- Bachelor’s Degree: A completed bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Health Sciences, or a related discipline.
- Premedical Background: Coursework or demonstrated knowledge in premedical subjects such as Anatomy, Physiology, Microbiology, and related areas.
- Skills and Abilities:
- Fast Learner: Ability to quickly grasp new concepts, procedures, and technologies.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to Detail: High level of attention to detail to ensure accuracy in data collection, analysis, and reporting.

- Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in using relevant software and technology, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other specialized applications pertinent to the field.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $23.50/hour + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position.
