We are currently seeking a qualified candidate to work as a Student Radiologic Technologist.
JOB SUMMARY:
The Radiologic Technologist will be responsible for performing various radiographic imaging procedures to assist in diagnosing and evaluating medical conditions. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to work independently, will be proficient in radiographic techniques, committed to patient care, and able to work effectively with a multidisciplinary team.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Perform Radiographic Examinations: Perform diagnostic imaging procedures including X-rays of the chest, abdomen, extremities, and other body parts as ordered by physicians.
- Patient Preparation: Prepare and position patients for radiographic procedures, ensuring they understand the process and are comfortable throughout the examination.
- Image Acquisition: Operate radiographic equipment to capture high-quality images, following safety protocols and procedural guidelines to ensure diagnostic accuracy.
- Image Review: Operate the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) to review and assess radiographic images for quality and completeness adjusting as needed. Participate in the diagnostic imaging quality assurance process.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of patient information, imaging results, and technical details in electronic health records (EHR); prepare preliminary reports for review by healthcare providers.
- Collaboration: Work closely with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to integrate radiographic findings into patient care plans.
- Equipment Maintenance: Report any equipment malfunctions or issues.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to radiation safety protocols, infection control practices, and regulatory guidelines to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
- Patient Care: Provide empathetic and professional care to patients, addressing their questions and concerns with sensitivity and respect.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- Education: Must be currently enrolled in an accredited Radiologic Technology program, with satisfactory progress towards certification and licensure. (Proof of enrollment may be required).
- Experience: Must be in your 2nd year of the program and completed all competencies (able to do full body x-rays).
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in operating radiographic equipment and PACS.
- Clinical Skills: Proficient in performing a variety of imaging procedures with accuracy with a strong understanding of anatomy, radiographic techniques, and radiation safety practices.
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Attention to Detail: High attention to detail and accuracy in performing and documenting radiographic procedures.
- Compassionate Care: Demonstrated ability to provide patient-centered care with a focus on empathy and professionalism.
