As a Neuropsychology Technologist (NT), your job will be to provide services to patients with various neurobehavioral conditions. You will be responsible for performing routine yet complex procedures while working directly with patients. The Neuropsychology Technologist is responsible for conducting neurobehavioral studies, that include neuropsychological and psychological tests including toxicology screenings. In addition to acquisition of data, the Neuropsychology Technologist scores and maintains test data making it available for interpretation.
ResponsibilitiesThe Journeys and Adventures that Await:
- Conducts neuropsychological/physiological tests and toxicology screenings. (70%)
- Consults with neuropsychologist on test battery
- Prepares for patients’ arrival, collaborates with referring provider to address, clarify or identify potential issues related to conducting the study.
- Provides patients with instruction in preparation for the study.
- Consistently and precisely administers the tests according to the specific instructions.
- Ensures all appointment data are documented in the patient chart.
- Maintains, retrieves and delivers data for analysis/interpretation, populates report templates and provides subjective observational data for each study.
- Attends team didactic and clinical meetings.
- Maintains professional development.
- Collecting data and maintaining research database. (20%)
- Ensures data is acquired, processed and ready for interpretation 1-3 days after testing. Informs clinicians when data are ready for interpretation and when feedback is scheduled.
- Maintains laboratory notebook and source clinical data.
- Assures that all data are backed up and stored.
- Maintains patient’s confidentiality.
- Provide administrative support/data management for Brain to Behavior patients. (10%)
- Assists providers with updating and maintaining neuropsychological/psychological protocols along with ensuring proper inventory including software updates.
- Explains the Brain to Behavior program to patients and their families.
QualificationsEDUCATION and / or CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE:
BA, BS or MA, MS Degree in Psychology, Neuroscience or related fields.
EXPERIENCE:
- Previous experience with Neuropsychological/Psychological testing is preferred.
- 1 year of experience which includes patient contact preferably in the behavioral health environment is required.
- Must have ability to work with patients of all ages who present with psychiatric conditions.
- Must have knowledge of Windows applications and able to learn new programs/applications.
- Must have basic math skills including understanding of basic statistics.
- Must be detail-oriented.
- Adheres to all standards of practice outlined by the APA, State Licensing Board, and other professionally relevant psychological bodies under the direction of the Neuropsychologist.
