If you are a pregnant or parenting teen, you will find a place where you belong at the Lifelong Learning Center’s ELECT (Education Leading to Employment and Career Training) program. Our team provides one-on-one personalized support, guidance, and training to help you achieve both personally and as a parent.
All services are at no cost. Our caring staff will guide you along the way as you enter your new role as a parent.
OUR MISSION
- To provide supportive services to pregnant and parenting teens (females and males).
- To help these teens remain in school or earn a high school diploma or GED.
- To help them prepare for the world of work.
- To help them develop personal and parenting skills that will lead to a healthy family life.
What do we do?
- Provide individual and group counseling.
- Inform about prenatal and postnatal care; labor and delivery; nutrition; growth and development of children; parenting skills and case management.
- Support academics and monitor school attendance.
- Assist with tutoring services.
- Provide academic support to homebound students.
- Support services for passing the GED Test.
- Inform about resources for health care, legal aid, and other services.
- Refer to social agencies.
- Offer job readiness skills and career education/exploration.
