Summary of VirtuAlly and Virtual Nurse Program:
Born out of a telehealth center for excellence from a leading academic medical system, VirtuALLY has revolutionized contracted Virtual Nursing and Virtual Sitting. Established in 2017, we are the longest standing Virtual Sitting solution emphasizing evidenced based care delivery and safe practices.
The Virtual Nurse provides clinical services for patients in clinical settings. Using the EMR, telehealth services and remote visualization of the patient, the Virtual Nurse is responsible for providing care that can be provided remotely.
The Virtual Nurse works in collaboration with the bedside staff as a member of the Nursing Care Team and is responsible for collaboration, communication and facilitation of optimal provision of care through a computerized and/or digital platform supporting daily management of care. Responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation, coordination, monitoring, and evaluation of the patient's plan of care from admission to discharge. Utilizes clinical knowledge, critical thinking skills and the principles of case management and adult education to coordinate, implement, and support the plan of care. Ensures a seamless, effective, efficient transition of care across the continuum.
Responsible for monitoring quality metrics specific to the department and ensuring complete and accurate documentation in the patient record.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and coordinate the nursing staff, including training new nurses
- Create and maintain nursing schedules, ensuring adequate coverage for all shifts
- Assign duties and responsibilities to nursing staff, ensuring patient needs are met
- Monitor and evaluate the quality of patient care provided by nursing staff, implementing improvements as needed
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement policies and procedures that promote patient safety and quality care
- Handle budgeting and financial management for the nursing department, ensuring resources are used efficiently
- Resolve any issues or conflicts that arise among the nursing staff, promoting a positive work environment
- Stay up to date on current healthcare trends and best practices in nursing management
Requirements:
- 5 years nursing experience (preferred)
- Previous leadership experience in healthcare
- Experience with telehealth platforms preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Comprehensive experience with EMRs, preferably EPIC
- Must have strong assessment, organizational and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Self-motivated
- Able to function effectively independently
- Ability to understand and implement a variety of detailed instructions in the execution of complex procedures
- Ability to work with a variety of health care professionals and patients
- Extensive clinical skills for specific unit
- Ability to lead and motivate others
- Work flexibility
- A customer service-oriented demeanor is essential.
- Licensure as a Registered Nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state. Licensure in other states as required by contract. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
