Position Summary:
We are hiring a Mobile Response Stabilization Services Youth or Family Peer Support Specialist to provide mobile response and stabilization services in conjunction with the entire MRSS team. Housed downtown for timely response, MRSS services are provided to youth (age 2-20) and families who have called the crisis hotline with a family identified crisis. Under the supervision of the MRSS supervisory team, the Peer Support Specialist will use their lived experience to assist families to navigate the crisis and connect to needed services during the stabilization phase of treatment. Some evening and weekend hours will be required.
Responsibilities Include:
- Engage youth and families in de-escalating the crisis and assess for risk.
- Provide occasional or ongoing peer support services during the stabilization phase of treatment with the youth and families for up to six weeks.
- Collaborates with other disciplines and services to meet client needs.
- Maintains a professional posture with clients and families that reflects courtesy, respect and the highest ethical standards.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of the clinical record through the timely completion of assigned documentation in accordance with applicable licensing and accreditation regulations and standards.
- Respect the privacy of clients and hold in confidence all information obtained during the client’s treatment according to HIPPA guidelines. All client-related documents should be handled in accordance with Agency guidelines on confidential material.
Qualifications:
- Minimum High School Diploma with 3 years experience in the mental health field working with youth and families.
- Must obtain the State of Ohio Peer Recovery certification for either Youth Peer Support or Family Peer Support - agency will assist with this training.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, and ability to work cooperatively as a team as well as independently.
- Experience working with electronic medical records and ability to work effectively with diverse populations with complex psychiatric needs.
- A valid driver's license, vehicle and auto insurance coverage.
